LYRICS: WALKING WOUNDED We’re the walking wounded We’re the walking wounded Don’t you know us We’re the roll and rockers The horror shockers Can’t hide from us, cause we’re you! We’re the walking wounded We’re the walking wounded On our face is what you feel Come and look we’re real Wear your masks righteous clowns Faceless you bring us down Paint your face Choose your death A brand new knife A dead-on bullet Pretty poison Or flaming fire It’s up to you Up to you We’re the walking wounded We’re the walking wounded

LYRICS: PARADISE, the Sequel On a lonely landscape A table set for one A spool of scrambled tape The world is come undone The sound of no love dying In Paradise, the sequel The sound of no child crying In Paradise, the sequel Stepping through a broken glass She mirrored all my pain There is no way to let it pass I have my heart again The sound of no denying In Paradise, the sequel The sound of once more flying In Paradise, the sequel The sound of no love dying In Paradise, the sequel The sound of no child crying In Paradise, the sequel In Paradise

LYRICS: LOVE IS NOT THE ANSWER Love is not the answer, it’s the problem Love is not the answer, it’s the problem Love is not the way in, it’s the way out Love is not the water, it’s the cold spout Love is not the sure thing, it’s the old doubt So don’t look for love Let love look for you And when you find it Be sure to blind it Love is not the answer, it’s the problem Love is not the answer, it’s the problem …the problem …the problem …the problem …is love

LYRICS: LOVE IS A THIRD DEGREE BURN Love, is a third degree burn Love, is a third degree burn Love, is a third degree burn Love, is a third degree burn Why won’t you ever-ever learn There’s no escape, there’s no return Love, is a third degree burn Love, is a third degree burn There ain’t no love, it’s just all lust Fiery angel food, and crimson dust Third degree, love’s a third degree burn Third degree, love’s a third degree burn Third degree, love’s a third degree burn Third degree, burn, burn, burn

about

“WALKING WOUNDED” is the gory tale of a fast-living rock band, famous for sporting graphically painted body wounds at their performances.
But when band members mysteriously begin dying, one by one, of these same fake wounds--the frivolity ends. . .

The lyrics for these songs were written in the early 1990s by two screenwriters, Lillian Hara and Dorie Rush Taylor for their screenplay “WALKING WOUNDED.” Although they were close to a movie deal at one point, “WALKING WOUNDED” has not been produced as of yet.

The music is part punk, part funk, part ethereal, part blues. I added one instrumental track that seemed like it would be good incidental music for a soundtrack.

Hal Lieberman wrote the lyrics on the title track and J’Nae Fincannon delivers a huge soul punch singing “Love Is A Third Degree Burn.” That song also features New Orleans’s Steve Landon on lead guitar. And the bluesman on “Love Is Not The Answer” is my old band mate from Seattle, Casey James.
